DIY--Decorated Jars

Recently, my friend Molly and I found a Pinterest project, which used Mason glass jars to make candle holders. We decorated old pasta jars with craft paper using liquid glue. They came out fantastic! I currently use my decorated jars to hold wine corks. Below are some pictures of our decorated jars and me making mine:

We used rubber bands to keep the thicker paper in place while the glue dried.

Our decorated jars with lit tea lights inside.

How to make Decorated Jars
You will need:

  • Used glass jars with all labels removed
  • Liquid glue
  • Paint brush
  • Rubber bands
  • Craft paper--Molly bought thinner, patterned white and green paper, as well as a thicker brown paper with holes
  • Tea lights
  • Scissors

How to assemble:
1. Wrap the paper around the jar, make sure the whole jar is covered, & cut off any excess.
2. Remove the paper.
3. Coat the outside of the jar with glue using the paint brush.
4. Apply the measured paper to the jar. Use more glue as needed to keep the seam closed.
5. Wrap rubber bands around the jar to hold the paper in place while it dries.
6. Allow the paper to dry over night then remove the rubber bands.
7. Wrap twine or ribbon around the rim of the jar to add a decorative touch.

Enjoy and let me know if you make them!
